Delta Translator updates are available periodically via the Internet. To update online, you must have already registered your Delta Translator installation and your computer must already be connected to the Internet. Your update cannot occur if your computer cannot successfully establish an SMTP port 25 connection. If your system cannot make such a connection, the program may lock up and require that you use the Ctrl+Alt+Delete keys to close (End Task) the program.

To begin an online update:

1. Close any other programs you may be running and temporarily disable any virus protection program that may be enabled. You may start an update in one of two ways:

2. Either click the parabolic antenna button on Delta Translator's Tool Bar  OR click Special on Delta Translator's Menu Bar and, then, Update Database via the Internet (as shown immediately below):

3. A  Update Database window will open where you can select the specific update method you wish to employ:

Send and Receive Data — Sends additions you've made to your database and Receives the latest update
Receive Data — Only Receives the latest update
Send Data — Only Sends additions you've made to your database

It is recommended that you use the default Send and Receive Data method. Once you have you selected the desired method, click the Start Update button to begin the update.

4. As the update dowload proceeds, the Update Database window will display the number of KB (kilobytes) transferred, the approximate time remaining and the percentage (%) of completion.

5. When the update download is completed, an Update - Welcome window will appear. Click the Next > button to proceed with the update or the Cancel button to cancel it.

6. After clicking the Next > button, an Update - Installation Folder window will appear. You may designate a specific temporary folder where the update will decompress temporary files or accept the default c:\windows\temp. Most users can safely accept the default.

Click the Finish button to complete the update, the < Back button to go back one window or the Cancel button to cancel the operation.

7. An Update System window will appear. Click the Start Update button to start the update.

When the update is complete, a message window will appear to confirm that the Delta Translator update installation was successful.

Important Note:

You must have already registered before you can update your Delta Translator database. Updates can only be furnished via the Internet. If you have not yet registered, clicking the parabolic antenna button  on Delta Translator's Tool Bar or clicking Special on Delta Translator's Menu Bar will display a registration window.
