During your installation of Delta Translator 3.0, you will need to enter (type in) the unique Serial Number/Installation Key (N° de Série) that was provided with the program package you received. The Serial Number/Installation Key (N° de Série) is noted on a label affixed to the CD-ROM case or sleeve. Keep your Serial Number/Installation Key in a safe place for future reference. It cannot be substituted or replaced if lost.

Before starting an installation, it is recommended that you close any other programs you may have opened and/or minimized on your Task Bar. It is also recommended that you temporarily disable any anti-virus program you may be using. Anti-virus programs often misinterpret any software installation as “virus like” activity. Additionally, some systems have been know to encounter minor problems when installing any new software. Often, these minor problems can be quickly and easily resolved by simply running chkdsk (Windows® XP, 2000 and 2003) or scandisk (Windows® 95, 98, ME) on your system before starting an installation.

Additionally, if when installing Delta Translator on a Windows® XP or 2000 system, you receive a 16 bit Windows Subsystem error window with the message similar to the following: "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft windows application, choose "Close' to terminate the application", please review the information about the AUTOEXEC.NT file for a fast and easy solution to this common Windows® problem.

During installation, clicking the < Back button will take you to the previous window, clicking the Next > button will take you to the next window and clicking the Cancel button will cancel the installation.

Language Interface Note: If your computer uses an American/U.S. English version of Windows® ‘95, ‘98, NT, ME, 2000, 2003 or XP, Delta Translator will automatically install the English version of the program and all screens, windows, buttons, interactive messages, help file, etc., will be in English. However, if your computer uses an English version of Windows® other than American/U.S. English (e.g. Canadian, British, Australian, Irish, South African, etc.), please review the special setup instructions for other English versions to slightly modify the program settings to reflect your non-American/US English version of Windows®.

If your computer uses a Portuguese version of Windows® ‘95, ‘98, NT, ME, 2000 or XP, Delta Translator will automatically install the Brazilian Portuguese version of the program and all screens, windows, buttons, interactive messages, help file, etc., will be in Brazilian Portuguese.

1. Place the Delta Translator 3.0 CD-ROM in your CD drive
2. Within a few seconds, a Delta Translator 3.0 Installation Menu window will automatically open.

3. Click the Delta Translator 3.0 menu option to proceed with your installation of Delta Translator in English. For the Portuguese installation menu, click the link at the bottom left of the window near the Brazilian flag icon. To independently install the free English Works Gold Special Edition bonus program included with your purchase of Delta Translator, click the English Works Gold Special Edition option.

4. In the Installation Welcome window, click the Cancel button to exit the installation program and close any Windows® programs or applications you may have open. Also temporarily disable any anti-virus program you may have running. Click the Next > button to continue with the installation.

5. You must agree to the Single End User Software License Agreement to continue with the installation. You may read the entire Single End User Software License Agreement by scrolling down the window. If you do NOT agree, click the No button and installation will terminate. If you agree, click the Yes button and the installation will continue.

6. In the User Information window, you must type in your Name, Company Name [type your name again if your installation is not a company installation] and the Serial Number/Installation Key (N° de Série) [including all hyphens] exactly as it appears on the small label affixed either to the plastic CD-ROM cover/case or the title page of the printed Portuguese Reference Manual. After completing the information, click the Next > button to proceed to the next window. If you make an error entering the Serial Number/Installation Key (N° de Série), an error window will appear (as below).

If this occurs, click the OK button and you will be returned to the User Information window. Carefully check the Serial Number/Installation Key (N° de Série), correct any error(s) and click the Next > button to proceed to the next window.

7. The Choose Destination Location window will display the Destination Folder. The default installation folder (directory) for Delta Translator is C:\Program Files\MicroPower Software\Delta Translator 3.0. For most users and installations it is recommended that you accept this directory. If, for some reason you need to install the program to another different folder (directory), click the Browse... button which will open a Select Folder window where you will be able to type in or select the specific destination folder you desire in the Path box. When completed, click the Next > button to proceed.

8. In the Setup Type Window, either accept the default Typical installation option or select another installation option and click Next > button to proceed to the next window.

Typical: installs Delta Translator with all of its most common components and files including dictionaries, voice synthesizers, spelling and grammar checkers and other post translation tools. It is a full and complete installation. For most users, this installation is recommended.
Compact: installs only Delta Translator and its dictionaries without any other tools or utilities.
Custom: allows you to install only specific components. You may select Delta Translator, the dictionaries, voice synthesizers, spelling/grammar checkers and network installation options.

9. In the Select Program Folder window you can accept the default folder (MicroPower Delta Translator 3.0), select another already existing folder or enter the name of an entirely new folder. For most users and most situations, using the default Program Folder (MicroPower Delta Translator 3.0) is recommended.

10. To ensure that all resources are properly installed, it is recommend that you restart (reboot) your computer at the end of the installation. To do this, first, make sure Yes is selected, then, eject the CD from your CD drive, then click the Finish button to restart (reboot) your computer.
